Quebec wins in Drummondville in extremis Robidoux second goals made the difference in Quebec favor

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Playing the second game of four games in five nights, playing first game of three games in three nights, Quebec found a way to take their revenge against Drummondville. Losing (10-2) in Quebec in September, against the same Voltigeurs, Remparts got the last word this time as the second goal by Mikael Robidoux made the difference in favor of the visiting team winning 3-2.

Quebec took advantage of their first power play opportunity following a penalty to Voltigeurs defenseman Nicolas Beaudin adding to their lead. A perfect by defenseman Ross McDougall to Captain Matthew Boucher scoring his fourth goal of the regular season at 13:16. Boucher beat Voltigeurs netminder on glove side.

Found guilty of high sticking to Quebec veteran defenseman Raphael Maheux got four minutes, Drummondville missed an excellent opportunity to break the ice.

After being blanked on their first two power play chances, Drummondville got on the board on their third opportunity. A shot from blue line by Frederic Aube has been redirect by Voltigeurs Pavel Koltygin at 2:55. Quebec center Andrew Coxhead was in the box.

 Thinking they had tied the game on a penalty to Quebec forward Robidoux, Drummondville saw their potential second goal in the game denied due to a shot redirected with a skate with 6:39 to play in middle frame.

Prevented of his second goal in the game as the puck deflected on his skate, Pavel Koltygin came back 1:25 into the third period tying the game 2-2 with his sixth of the season beating Quebec netminder Booth with a backhanded shot.

As both teams traded scoring opportunities in the third period Quebec had had the last word as the second goals of the game by Robitoux made the difference in the game with 57.1 seconds remaining in the third period.

Playing their second game of three games in three nights over the weekend Quebec will make next stop in Sherbrooke facing the Phoenix.
