QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Leading by two after forty minutes, Quebec saw their opponent come from behind in the third period to force both teams to play an extra period. Unable to score goal in overtime Quebec got the last word in shootout as captain Matthew Bucher scored in shootout to give 3-2 win to Quebec over Gatineau.

Quebec opened the scoring in first period taking advantage of their first power play opportunity. Quebec left winger Olivier Garneau score his 10t of the year, completing a great pass from teammate Olivier Mathieu. Garneau beat Gatineau goaltender Tristan Berube on his right side at 9:43.
Missing their first chance on five-on-three for 57 seconds, Quebec got another five-on-three power play opportunity for 54 seconds and this time, Quebec captain Matthew Boucher, scored Quebec second goal, his 17th of regular season in second periods, beating Olympiques netminder on glove side at 4:28.
Remparts center Andrew Coxhead got a penalty shot with 4:05 remaining but Gatineau netminder made pad save preventing Quebec to add to their lead.
Making 25 saves on Gatineau 27 shots, Quebec goaltender was first to recognize he owe one to his teammates. “Sure it was a good game,” answered Dereck Baribeau. “It was a special game for me because it was my best friend who tended the goal on the other side. We went in overtime, I think I owe that to the guys because, I didn’t played well in last couple games. I very happy about this big victory.”

With rumors saying the possibility of Gatineau netminder Mathieu Bellemare could come to Quebec reporters ask to Baribeau if it might be possible that could disturb him. “For real,” said Baribeau, “I don’t care, I will do my job in goal and “Phil” (Philippe Boucher) will do his job, I will do mine.”
Gatineau scored their first goal with only 1:52 gone in the third. Mitchell Dalmas made Quebec paid twice as he got the two Gatineau goals in third period. On first one, Olympiques left winger beat Quebec netminder over left shoulder.
Dalmas second goal came with 1:57 remaining in the third period on Quebec penalty taken by defenseman Christian Huntley for delay of game. It was the second consecutive penalties, first one taken by another defenseman Gabriel Villeneuve.
After five minutes of overtime played three-on-three, neither team was able to put a puck behind the other goalies pushing teams to go in shootout where Remparts captain made the difference with his second goal of the game.
“Absolutely, answered Gatineau head coach Eric Landry when reporter suggested his team played better in second half of the game. “It seem for the first half we still had our legs in the bus. It took little times before we played our game, penalties in first period slowed us down. Once we took the beat and we successfully take the tempo we got momentum and I think players did great job.”

For Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher, he was happy his team found a way to win and he praised his goaltender job in front of Quebec net.
“Exactly, answered Quebec coach Philippe Boucher when a reporter suggested the head coach could thanks his goalie for the additional point. “ I liked the way we played in first period. As we used our speed, we forced them to take penalties, we often told the first game after a long road trip is always harder, if we addition Baie-Comeau, Blainville-Boisbriand, Victoriaville and Gatineau (last Sunday) we looked like a team that came from long road trip. When players got the puck hands seemed to go but not the legs. It put us in troubled. They played well, they were coach very well, they were well prepared, but we found a way to win.” Quebec head coach Boucher said.
