QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Quebec opens the weekend hosting Chicoutimi trouncing their arch rival 8-2. Philipp Kurashev with his first hat trick of the regular season and rookie Pierrick Dube scores his first QMJHL career goal.
Dominating in shots on goal 14-11 Quebec also establish their domination on main scoreboard 4-1. Going on Breakaway Quebec defenseman Benjamin Gagne too first shot, as the shot been blocked by Chicoutimi goaltender rookie forward Pierrick Dube took the rebound hitting the puck in the air to score his first QMJHL goal at 9:09.
Several minute later center Philipp Kurashev scored his first of two goals in first period beating Alexis Shank on right side at 10:56.
Getting their first chance on power play Following a penalty to Chicoutimi forward Vincent Tremblay-Lapalme. Ranked 11th overall on 18 teams in QMJHL scoring53 goals in 294 opportunities, for 18.6 percent efficiency Kurashev scored his second of the night giving Quebec a 3-0 leads. Winning his battle for the puck against Sagueneens Ryan Smyth, Kurashev took his own rebound beating Sagueneens netminder with 6:34 to go in initial period.
Going 0-in-1 with a man advantage Chicoutimi scored their first goal on second power play attempts. Samuel Houde shot beat Quebec goaltender Dereck Baribeau over his right hand at 16:42.
Quebec regained their three goal leads with 33.1 seconds remaining in first period. Pascal Laberge wrist shot beat Chicoutimi goalie under left arm.
If fans saw lots of goals in the first period (five, four by Quebec ,one by Chicoutimi) two goals were scored in middle frame. Chicoutimi cut Quebec lead to two as Simon Monette scored his first of the season with 10:39 to go in the second periods.
After Quebec successfully killed a five-on-three and subsequently a four-on-three Remparts regained their three goal leads with only nine seconds remaining in second period. Matthew Groutchy redirect a shot from Andrew Coxhead to beat Alexis Shanks who was very solid in that second periods.
Quebec opened the third periods with Quebec defenseman Benjamin Gagne scoring his 8th of the season as his wrist shot hit the crossbar before bouncing on back leg of Shank before going in for Quebec sixth goals at 2:01. Going 1-in-5 with a man up Quebec adds a seventh goals in the game with Jesse Sutton redirecting the shot from the blue line by Christian Huntley at 6:32 for 2-in-6 on power play. Quebec center completed his hat trick with his third goals of the game his 17th of the year at 17:34.
For Quebec rookie Pierrick Dube he was smiling after the game after scoring his first QMJHL goal in first period. “Sure it is fun I work hard since the beginning of the year, we played really well. I think it wasn’t the chances that missing, just take times, be at the right place at right time keeping my confidence. More we play, more confident we become so today it unlock I’m really happy about that.” Young forward Pierrick Dube said near team locker room.
Another Quebec player for whom it went pretty well was Philipp Kurashev scoring his first hat trick of the regular season. “Yes it was my first,” answered Quebec center Philipp Kurashev being shy in front of member of the press. “Of course I’m happy but I’m happier that we win. Last game we scored lots of goals, we have to keep going and still winning. Of course everyone is happy when we scored lot of goals like that.” Continued Kurashev. 
Quebec head coach was really happy for the team itself. “I liked the energy of our team, it had been good at the beginning and all the game. For the crowd (10,379) it was fun, we did it two game in a row but it wasn’t usual from us. It’s fun for the guys, its fun for the crowd.” Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher said in the press conference room.
“I think players feel the energy from the crowd and you’ve talk to Dube (Pierrick), he played really well since couple games, it is fun to see him scoring his first goal. Boucher said.
“Goal scored against us at the end of a period always hurt, but besides that we never really be in the game. We will tell the real things, without the Shank’s performance in net it would have been more that that. He was our best player on the ice tonight.” Chicoutimi head coach Yannick Jean. 
Quebec will return in action to complete their weekend hosting Rouyn-Noranda.
