Quebec Remparts launch 20th season in QMJHL Chouinard, Cloutier, and Savard will be honor

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — With summer almost over, it is the signal for all QMJHL fans to return to the arena. On August 15 2016, the Quebec Remparts organization, with its President Jacques Tanguay, made the announcement in a press conference at Videotron center what will surround their 20th season in the QMJHL.

At this occasion, Mr. Tanguay, after welcoming everyone in the room including former players, made the announcement that three former players of the golden area of the Remparts will get the honor of seeing their sweater retired and will hang from the roof of the Videotron Center.

Andre Savard, who played with Guy Lafleur will be the first, to receive the honor of seeing his sweater number 12, retired on October 28.

Wearing sweater number 7 as player Guy Chouinard who also had the honor of coaching the Remparts, for their first four years, will be the second player to be honored on December 17 seeing his sweater retired.

Playing only one year with the organization as he had been drafted at 16 years of age by the Quebec Nordiques in the World Hockey Association Real Cloutier will be the third to receive the honor of seeing his number 10 being raised to the rafters of Videotron center on February 4th.

Seated beside the President of the organization the Quebec Remparts head coach and General Manager Mr. Philippe Boucher talked about the training camp beginning on August 17 2016 with all rookies coming getting their first session on the ice on same day before taking direction of Chicoutimi on Thursday to be part of a round-robin rookie tournament involving three other teams beginning on Friday August 19.

Chicoutimi Saguennens, Baie-Comeau Drakkar and Rimouski Oceanic will be the three other teams involved in the tournament. The team will be back on Sunday as veterans will report to the organization where rookies and veterans will be part of Quebec Remparts organization.

After visiting the Videotron Center all rookies step on the ice of Pavilion de la jeunesse for their first training session between 15:00 and 16:30 on Wednesday afternoon.
