QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Coming out as winners in four out of last five games Quebec, registered a fifth in six games this time against the Shawinigan Cataractes by the score of 6-2. Anthony Duclair (1g-2a) and Vladimir Tkachev also with (1g-2a) led Philippe Boucher’s team to victory.
Shawinigan opened the scoring with only 1:25 gone in the first period. Left uncovered in slot Christopher Lalonde beat Quebec goaltender Callum Booth.
Consecutive penalties to Cataractes James Phelan and Alexandre Coulombe gave Quebec a five-on-three power play opportunity for 1:04. Quebec defenseman Nikolas Brouillard slapshot from the blueline left no chance to Shawinigan goaltender Marvin Cupper.

Shawinigan regained the lead for second times also playing on five-on-three power plays. Left alone in slot Gabriel Slight beat Quebec netminder for Cataractes left winger 21st of the year at 6:56.
Quebec came back tying the score 2-2 on their second five-on-three power play opportunities of the first period. Anthony Duclair wrist shot hit the post first before back of Shawinigan netminder before crossing the goal line at 13:13. Duclair scored in fourth consecutive games.
After playing a good first period, Quebec came out in the second period playing even better adding two more goals. Driving to the net Vladimir Tkachev made perfect pass to Marc-Olivier Roy who redirect the pass between Shawinigan netminder’s pads giving the lead to Quebec for the first time in the game at 17:51.
Quebec came back doubling his lead with 35.3 seconds remaining on the scoreboard as Tkatchev beat Cupper between the pads for Remparts fourth goals of the game.
Playing mostly on third line playing the enforcer role Yanick Turcotte scores Quebec fifth goal his third in regular season as he took the rebound from center Massimo Carozza with 11:18 to play in third period.
Playing shorthanded following a penalty to Quebec center Kurt Etchegary, Quebec scores sixth goals as Quebec defenseman Ryan Graves shot beat Cataractes goaltender following perfect pass from Anthony Duclair at 17:25.
“What I like about the game we talked about it before the game been physical Turcotte and Donovan did it in last night game Tkachev completed his check along the board if I’m not mistaken he is the one with the most check in the game.” Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher said about his Russian winger Tkachev.
Quebec will be back in action to end the three games in four night hosting the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Sunday afternoon.
