QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Beginning the weekend on Friday with important meeting with Cape Breton winning against the Screaming Eagles Quebec came back on Sunday afternoon facing arch rival Chicoutimi Sagueneens. Ukrainian left winger Dmytro Timashov plays key role in Quebec 5-1 win against Chicoutimi. After breaking the record of assists in one season held before by Angelo Esposito with 59, Timashov became the new holder registering three assists before scoring Quebec fourth goal. The new record now is 63 assists and counting.

Quebec scored the only goal of the first period.  Back after missing the last two Quebec games Adam Erne made his present felt with Quebec’s first goal. Erne’s shot beat Chicoutimi goaltender Julio Billia between his pads at 15:29

Chicoutimi came back in the second period scoring their only goal of the game. Posted on left side Alexandre Ranger surprised Quebec goaltender Callum Booth with a shot that Quebec netminder would like to get another chance on but it was too late as the Sagueneens tied the game 1-1.

As the second period went on rumors about a Quebec important players being involved in NHL trade began to be heard in the press box. Rumor became reality later in the middle frame as New-York Rangers made important trade with the Phoenix Coyotes.  Anthony Duclair has been traded with second round pick, John Moore and a conditional pick to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for defenseman Keith Yandle, Chris Summer a fourth round selection plus a conditional first round pick.

So as the trade became official the Quebec head coach talked to the player to announce it to him. After the game the player still was under the shock since he didn’t expect it.

“After the second Philippe (Boucher) the Quebec head coach, I was in shock I’ was surprised but in same time I didn’t know what to think. The third period was an emotional one for me,” the Quebec forward Anthony Duclair said after the game.

“I’m disappointed to leave New-York yes,” admitted the left winger. “They were the one who drafted me with their own selection, they gave me the chance to play in the NHL at 19 years old for sure I’m gone miss the place but in same time I’m excited to go to Arizona it is a great organization. I will have chance to play with Max Domi.”

As far as if he think he might have better chance to make the team establishing him faster, Duclair answered,” I don’t know I did not look their lineup for me it will just affect my future not my present. My focus is here in Quebec.”

Already establishing new record for most assist in one season with 63 after registering three assists in the game Timashov scores Quebec fourth goals as his shot deflected before going in at 5:58. Previous record had been held by Angelo Esposito with 59.

Timashov scored only two goals in his last 21 games. Marcus Cuomo scores Quebec last goal of the game with 5:32 remaining in the third period.

“Of course I’m happy to make some points but we won the game that was the most important things.” Answered Dmytro Timashov after ending his night with 1 goal three assists.

“I played with really good guys we play good together. Erne help me a lot with the goal.” Said the left winger talking about his teammates who played on same line with him.

“I’m bit disappointed of our first period,” answered Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher. “We did not go out like we would that is the kind of things we want to work on but for the rest, the last forty minutes were really great. Callum (Booth) has been really good, we played good defensively we play physical. The line of Massimo Carozza has been very good.”

On the other side, Chicoutimi head coach Yanick Jean seems happy about his team effort but is well aware he needed to win the game to be part of the big dance. “We played good first period we came out like we wanted to but the third goals scores against us seemed to act like back breaking goal. Against a great team like that, the way Booth (Quebec goalie) tended the goal today he has been solid so it did not help us.”
