QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Coming from behind three times in the game Quebec has been successful registering a 5-4 overtime win stopping their losing streak at three. Scoring his third of the regular season Jesse Sutton gave Quebec their second overtime win as he was the one who scored overtime goal in Halifax on last October 6-2017. Sutton’s
goal came at 1:20 of the fourth periods.
In fast pace first period, four goals were scored in first five minutes two from each side. Blainville-Boisbriand didn’t waste time to open the scoring Beating Quebec goaltender Dereck Baribeau on first two Armada shots on goal leading Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher to pull his starting netminder Dereck Baribeau sending Olivier Chalifour in.

Less than two minute later it was Quinn Hanna who scored his first on Armada second shots on Rempart veteran netminder Baribeau. A second long shot from the blue line went by Quebec netminder beating Baribeau low on right side at 2:21.
Quebec replied with the next two goals in 1:08 cutting Blainville-Boisbriand lead in half with a power play goal. Already scoring his first goal with his new team, coming from the Ontario Hockey League, Luke Kirwan, scored his second goal of the regular season with a shot from the left face-off circle, living no chance to Armada goaltender Francis Leclerc at 3:38.
Two other goals were scored in the middle frame one on each sides ending the middle frame with score still tied 3-3.
Beneficiary of their first power play opportunity in the game Armada took advantage of it to regain the lead. Veteran Armada center Alexandre Alain on perfect pass from Teammate Alex Barre-Boule score his fifth of the season 6:26 into the second period.
Quebec wasn’t able to take advantage of their third power play chances, but tied the score at even strength, just as the penalty to Blainville-Boisbriand center Remy Angleheart, came back on the ice.
Quebec tied the score 1:08 later as defenseman Etienne Verrette’s shot from the blue line went by Armada netminder at 4:46.
Quebec defenseman Sam Dunn’s shot from the blue line been redirected by Armada player in front of Leclerc with 10:03 remaining to play.
Couple minutes previous Blainville-Boisbriand penalty to Angleheart, Quebec missed an excellent scoring opportunity as Philipp Kurashev, and Luke Kirwan, went on two-on-one breakaway. Kurashev miss the net.
Missing his shot on net, Quebec defenseman Gabriel Villeneuve took bad penalty in offensive zone with 20.6 seconds remaining to second period.
Killing Blainville-Boisbriand power play to begin the third period, Quebec saw the Armada taking the lead for third times in the game. Been Pressure in their defensive zone, the visitor forgot Armada left winger Maxime Collin left uncovered in the slot scored his second of the season at 4:15.
Quebec got several scoring opportunities in the third period coming from the stick of Jeremy Laframboise, Matthew Boucher and Philipp Kurashev who saw Armada netminder frustrating Quebec left winger with glove save.
Seeing the time running out on the clock Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher pulled his netminder Chalifour who came in relief of Baribeau after the starting goalie has been beaten twice on first two shots in favor of a six attackers.
Been frustrated earlier in the period, Kurashev has been successful on his second attempts scoring Quebec fourth goals on Quebec 36th shots, beating Blainville-Boisbriand goaltender to his right side with only 25.1 seconds on the clock, forcing both teams to play in overtime.
As often happens, when a team missed a chance on one end, the other scored. Making a key save on the only Armada shot on goal in third period by Katerinakis, Quebec center Jesse Sutton skates went by Armada defenseman Antoine Crete-Belzile driven to the net Sutton gave Quebec the win with his third of the regular season, his second in overtime at 1:20.
Quebec next game will be next Wednesday in Quebec hosting Rimouski Oceanic.
