The Remparts trailed early on a goal scored on a tap-in goal scored by Dominic Cormier following first save by Quebec goaltender Callum Booth on Karl Boudrias shot 9:15 into opening period.

Quebec replied 34 seconds later with a goal scored by Andrew Coxhead their first round selection on June 6th. Coxhead wrist shot left no chance for Rimouski starting goaltender Gabriel Morency.

After Quebec missed an excellent chance to take the lead in the game as European center Philipp Kurashev saw Oceanic netminder make the save, Rimouski came back with the next three goals in 1:54.

The visitors took advantage of a penalty to Liam Leonard, who had been found guilty of tripping, to regain the lead. The shot from the blue line by Oceanic defenseman Karl Boudrias beat Booth at 16:48.

Rimouski center Raphael Bastille gave a two-goal lead to the visitors as his backhanded shot beat Quebec netminder over his right shoulder at 17:30.

The Oceanic took a three-goal lead scoring their fourth goal as Alexandre Grise scored his first goal, assisted by Charles-Edward D’Astous for their third goal in 1:54.

Entering the second period trailing by three, Quebec played better cutting their opponent’s lead as the period went along. Author of three goals in the game his third one pushing both teams in overtime with 28 seconds remaining in the third period, Derek Gentile cut Rimouski lead to two goals scoring his first of the night at 9:33 of middle frame beating Jimmy Lemay who came in to replace Gabriel Morency as both goalies played half games.

Gentile came back less than three minutes later scoring his second during a penalty to Justin Pare of the Oceanic who had been found guilty of slashing. Quebec right winger shot left no chance to Rimouski netminder. Quebec third goals came at 12:59

Quebec defenseman Aaron Dutra brought both teams back to square one scoring Quebec’s fourth goal at 14:44. The right-hand defenseman’s slap shot from the blue line beat Oceanic netminder on the glove side.

Being tied after two periods of play seeing Quebec coming back strongly with three unanswered goals, the visitor broke the tie regaining the lead for the third time.

Making first save on a Hunter Moreau shot forcing Quebec netminder to move out of his net, Callum Booth couldn’t do anything on the rebound going right to Justin Pare who only had to shoot the puck into an empty net 6:54 into the third period.

But before the siren sound announced the end of the game Derek Gentile who already had two goals in the game forced both teams to play in overtime scoring his third of the game with only 28 seconds remaining in the third.

After an overtime period playing three against three where neither team was able to get the puck behind the oppostion;s netminder, the Oceanic got the last word as they won in shootout.
