QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Playing with urgency after losing first game the night before at home, Quebec answered in game two by shutting out Cape Breton 2-0. Quebec will go to Cape Breton for game three, four and five in a format 2-3-2 due to the distance between the two teams with confidence.

Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher admitted after the game that his players realized the urgency and offered one of their best performance playing more aggressively.

“We answer well we paid the price,” Quebec head coach said talking about his team performances. “We worked hard guys sacrificed themselves, that is why we won.”

“We haven’t had the choice you have to realize rapidly before it would be too late. Guys realized it before tonight game, Cape Breton are a solid team they possibly played better tonight than the night before. I hope we showed our true team.” Remparts head coach Boucher said.

Been designate as starting goalie to begin the first round instead of Zachary Fucale, Callum Booth got his first shutout in 2014-15 playoff series making 31 saves.

“It was an excellent team performances, I never have seen a group of guys been as dedicated to a common task, and they all sacrificed for one goal to win the game. They blocked shots it was an excellent job.” Booth said.

Last shutout by Quebec goaltender in playoff came on March 27 2013 in a 4-0 wins against Chicoutimi.

Earning the third stars of the game Jerome Verrier made his presence felt with physical play and playing as they say under the skin.

“Nobody was happy about our performance last night, it wasn’t really our best game. We began to play in middle of third period last night. Today the key word was to play with the emergency feeling. We know we will go to the Memorial Cup but we don’t want to arrive by the back door.”

Quebec opened the scoring with 1:43 remaining in first period. Driving to the net Marcus Cuomo took his own rebound to beat Cape Breton goaltender Alexandre Belanger.

Quebec added a second goal to their lead; defenseman Ryan Graves’ one-timer left no chance to Screaming Eagles netminder been beaten on glove side at 3:10.

Unfortunately Cape Breton head coach wasn’t available for comment before or after the game.

Game three of QMJHL first round series will be next Tuesday in Cape Breton.
