QMJHL players of the week honor

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Jonathan Huberdeau, Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Cameron Critchlow were named three stars of the week for October 31.
 
With 6 points in two games, the Saint John Sea Dogs left winger earned the distinction of being named the first star scoring his fifth and sixth goals of the regular season against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in Saint John’s 6-3 win. In the next game against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, Huberdeau collected four assists and finished the game with a plus 5. The Sea Dogs left winger ended the week with 3g-3a.
 
Earning the first star of the game in the game against the Drummondville Voltigeurs, following a two goal performance, one being the game winning goal on a penalty shot, Jean-Gabriel Pageau of the Gatineau Olympiques earned the second star of the week. In a game against Rouyn-Noranda the next day (6-1 win), the Gatineau right winger added two goals and an assist in being named the second star of the game. Scoring at least one goal in his last four games Pageau ended his week with five points and a plus 4 rating.
 
The third star was awarded to Halifax Mooseheads Cameron Critchlow who has already registered 15 points in 17 games. Halifax played three games on the road winning all of them. Ending the game against the Blainville-Boisbriand with one goal and three assists Critchlow earned the first star of that game, won by the Mooseheads 7-5. On the following Friday and Saturday, Halifax played two games against Val-d’Or Foreurs winning both by 3-2 and 5-2. During these two games the Halifax captain ended the game with two points. He finished the week with six points on two goals.
 
QMJHL trades: In the first move, the Gatineau Olympiques sent veteran 20-year-old defenseman Guillaume Rousseau to Victoriaville Tigres. In return, the Tigres sent an eighth round pick in 2012 (previously acquired by Victoriaville, but originally belonging to Gatineau)
 
The second trade saw the Rimouski Oceanic sending veteran defenseman Alex MacDonald and a six round pick in 2012 to Gatineau. In return, the Olympiques sent a third round pick in 2014 to Rimouski.
