QUEBEC CITY P.Q. — The body of Mr. Gervais Munger, the Chicoutimi Sagueneens Governor was recovered from the Saint.Jean Lake on Monday, following a boating accident.
Mr. Munger was with three members of his family on a zodiac boat on Saturday on Saint Jean Lake, when suddenly the motor failed and the boat began to spin on itself, ejecting all occupants into the water.
Following the accident, the three family members were saved by people who heard cries for help but one person was still missing. Mr. Munger was found drowned in Saint Jean Lake on Monday September 6th at 12:30PM almost 48 hours later. 
“We are all under a state of shock and are extremely saddened by the terrible news,” said the QMJHL Commissioner Gilles Courteau on the QMJHL Website following the tragic death of the 52-year-old.
“The QMJHL has lost one of its pillars. Gervais Munger was an important part of the QMJHL acting both as Governor of Sagueneens Franchise and First Vice-President of our Board of Governors.”
Mr. Munger played three seasons in the QMJHL from 1976-77 to 1978-79. His record was 29 goals, 61 assists in 117 games. He became the Governor of Chicoutimi Franchise in September 2000.
The funeral will be held on Thursday September 9th in the afternoon (time to be confirmed) at the Cathedral of Chicoutimi.
