In St Paul, PWHL Boston’s Alina Muller scored with 84 seconds left in the second overtime on Sunday night to give Boston a 1-0 win over Minnesota in Game 4 of the PWHL Walter Cup Final series.
The game winner came one minute after a Minnesota goal was waved off got goalie interference.
“After that overturned goal, I knew we were going to get it,” Muller said. “Now we’re going to bring it home and we’re going to finish it. Unbelievable effort.”
Theresa Schafzahl set up the winner after collecting an errant puck in the defensive zone, and dropped the back Muller for a rush up ice and winner.
Aerin Frankel made 33 saves in the win.
The goal came exactly a minute after a Minnesota goal was waved off because of goalie interference, bringing a cascade of boos from the record crowd of 13,104.
The two teams head back to Boston for a deciding Game 5 for the inaugural Walter Cup championship in the PWHL.
Nicole Hensley made 32 saves in the loss.
