Puljujarvi traded to Hurricanes by Oilers

Jesse Puljujarvi was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes by the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday for forward prospect Patrik Puistola.

Puljujarvi signed a one-year contract with the Oilers on July 26, 2022 and can become a restricted free agent after the season.

The 24-year-old forward has 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 58 games this season.

“Jesse possesses a great blend of size (6-foot-4, 201 pounds) and skill, and he will add to the depth of our forward group,” Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said. “He has familiarity with some of our other Finnish players (Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Antti Raanta), and we see him as a great fit for our team and locker room.”
