The Nashville Predators are on a bit of a tear through southern California. After defeating the Ducks in Anaheim, the Preds came to Los Angeles and ended the Kings’ home party with a 4-3 win extra time.
Viktor Arvidsson scored the game winner with time winding down in the OT session with a breakaway goal.
“Three-on-3, you got to attack the game,” Predators captain Roman Josi said. “You got to want that goal. You can’t just sit back, and I think we did a pretty good job of that.”
The win was the second straight for the Predators who had not completed that feat this season before Saturday.
Miikka Salomaki, P.K. Subban and Craig Smith scored in regulation for Nashville.
“I guess at the end of the day you’d be happy with the point, because it didn’t look like we were going to get one. But I feel I don’t like losing, so overtime or regulation, (it’s) not much fun,” Kings coach John Stevens said.
Juuse Saros made 36 saves to pick up the win.
Alex Iafallo (his first NHL goal), Alec Martinez and Christian Folin scored for the Kings who dropped to 10-2-2.
Martinez scored late in the third to get the game tied at 3-3.
“Good teams got to stay composed,” Ryan Johansen said of the Preds’ response to the Martinez goal.. “They are a great team and we had our backs against the wall there for a little bit. Juuse made a couple of unbelievable saves there. They were really testing us and we were able to weather there storm a little bit and find a way to get it done in overtime.”

Darcy Kuemper made 27 saves to take the loss.
“We got four points out of six on the California trip on a back-to-back versus a team that has been playing well this whole season,” Johansen said.
