Predators remain perfect on the road with 5-4 win over Dallas in OT

In Dallas Saturday afternoon, the visiting Nashville Predators rallied with three goals in the third period to force extra time before defeating the Stars, 5-4 on a goal from Mattias Ekholm.

The Predators are now a gaudy 8-0-0 on the road this season and 13-3-0 overall.

Juuse Saros made 20 saves to get the win for the Predators.

Nashville got regulation goals from Ryan Hartman, Ryan Johansen, Yannick Weber and Roman Josi.

“They have a great power play,” Josi said. “You have to try to get in shooting lanes, and Juuse obviously made a couple huge saves.”

Dallas had a 3-1 lead heading into the third period but could not hold off the Predators’ offense.

“It builds confidence when you’re in those situations going into the third period to know you can go out and turn the game around,” Predators head coach Peter Laviolette said.

Tyler Pitlick, Tyler Seguin and Jason Spezza  scored for the 3-1 lead

“We just don’t give up,” Ekholm said. “You can see it today, 3-1, they’re close to getting 4-1. We just dig one out pretty much.”

Denis Gurianov struck in the third period to blunt the Nashville rally for a 4-3 Dallas lead.

“It would have been a nice game to win with the way those guys came in,” Spezza said.

Dallas fell to 9-6-2 and are 1-1-2 over this last four games.
