In Elmont, the visiting Nashville Predators took a 2-0 lead on the New York Islanders Friday night, and held it for a 4-1 win.
Kevin Lankinen made 48 saves, an NHL career-high for him.
Nashville improved to 12-9-2.
Filip Forsberg scored off the power play in the first period to give the Preds a 1-0 lead.
Roman Josi pushed it to 2-0 in the middle frame, also off the power play.
The Isles dropped to 15-10.0.
The Islanders’ Mathew Barzal hit off the power play at 11:06 of the third period to get New York back within one at 2-1.
The Islanders outshot the Preds, 22-7, in the third period, but Lankinen held serve on the lead.
Matt Duchene hit and empty-net goal with 73 seconds left in the third period, and Mikael Granlund added a second empty-net strike with 37 ticks left for the 4-1 final.
Ilya Sorokin made 19 saves in the Islanders loss.
