Poulson returns to Oilers

TULSA, Okla. —The Tulsa Oilers, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks and the American Hockey League’s San Diego Gulls, announced the signing of forward Tyler Poulsen for the 2023-24 season.

Poulsen returns for his second full season in Tulsa, having joined the Oilers ahead of the 2022 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The 30-year-old totaled a career-high 40 points (10g-30a) in 66 contests during the 2022-23 season. He also led the Oilers with 185 shots on goal.

He has totaled 107 points (47g-60a) in 216 career ECHL games with Allen, Rapid City, Worcester and Tulsa.

The Arvada, Colorado native developed at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, finishing first in assists (17) and second in points (26) during the 2017-18 season.

Poulsen played his junior hockey in the North American Hockey League, compiling 156 points (74g-82a) in 219 games with Kenai River, Aberdeen, Odessa and Topeka. Poulsen was selected to the NAHL’s First All-Star Team in 2013-14.
