Pixellot, Hungarian Hockey Federation partner for TV broadcasts

Tel Aviv, Israel, Budapest, Hungary – Pixellot, the world’s leading provider of AI-Automated sports video and analytics solutions, and Magyar Jégkorong Szövetség- The Hungarian Hockey Federation, have teamed up to provide full coverage of all top league Hungarian ice hockey matches in the coming season.

The deployment of Pixellot systems will augment the TV broadcasts of the Federation meaning that not only will all first league games be broadcast, but also hundreds of games from the women’s and youth leagues. All told, some 800 games are scheduled to be streamed next season from 10 rinks around the country.

In addition, the Pixellot systems will bring important tools for advancing the sport. Referees will have access to all the games and will use the video to improve officiating. Coaches will have access to all the footage and be able to utilize it to enhance team and player performance.

About The Hungarian Hockey Federation
Hungary was a European pioneer in the sport of ice hockey in the 1920s, and was one of the first countries in the world to participate in the Winter Olympic Games.
However, the greatest achievements of Hungarian ice hockey were born in the last decade and a half. The men’s national team were promoted twice to Division A – in Switzerland in 2009, and in St Petersburg in 2016 – and is currently listed 21st in the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Ranking. The women’s national team competed in the world elite in Canada 2021, where they finished in the 9th place.
In Hungary, ice hockey has the fifth highest number of certified players among the six major Hungarian spectator team sports, with more than 9,000 players in 2021. The federation’s member associations, including the academies, number 115, with access to 32 full-size rinks and several small ones nationwide. The federation also places particular emphasis on the continuous development of infrastructure, providing assistance for the acquisition of equipment as well as in the training of sports professionals.

The HIHF organises the region’s premier international ice hockey championship, the Erste League, which in the 2021/22 season features 8 clubs from Hungary and 3 from Transylvania. The EWHL Women’s International Championship will also be organised under the auspices of our federation.
