PHILADELPHIA, Pa – Thursday night the New York Islanders visited conference–leading Philadelphia for a divisional battle. The Islanders, a doormat for the league earlier in the 2010-11 season have come on of late and played well. They stand to become spoilers for teams looking to make the field of eight from the NHL’s Eastern Conference.
The game in Philadelphia ended in overtime with a goal by Andrej Meszaros at 4:42 of the extra session. Isles goalie Al Montoya was the victim of the 25-foot slapshot.
