CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte’s Mike Murphy’s 44 saves, the second stellar outing in as many nights, propelled the Checkers to a 3-1 win over the Norfolk Admirals on Sunday night. Michal Jordan and Cedric McNicoll scored for the Checkers early to stake the club to a lead heading into the third frame. Drayson Bowman added an insurance marker late in the third to end the scoring.
Norfolk outshot Charlotte 45-30 and tested Murphy often. Murphy was starting his third consecutive match following an injury to Justin Peters.
