Sheffield, UK: After spending New Year’s day in Edinburgh, the team left for Sheffield on the 2nd. January 3rd was game day vs the Sheffield Steel Dogs, one of the top teams in the NIHL.
In the city where fans were seen sporting jerseys of Team USA’s Coach Ed Courtenay, who played in Sheffield for three seasons, the team played it’s best game of the four game UK tour.
It was a 3-2 tightly played game until a late empty net goal sealed the game for the home team and capping a 4-2 victory for the Steel Dogs.
As was the case with the previous games, there was plenty of enthusiasm from the crowd, as well as the ceremonial puck drops, jersey exchanges and man of the match awards.
