Western Michigan reached the Great Lakes Invitation finals by rolling over Michigan State 4-1. The Broncos would go on to face Michigan Tech in the championship game.
The Broncos got goals from Sheldon Dries, Griffen Molino, Matheson Iacopelli and Jade McMullen, while Ben Blacker made 29 saves to remain unbeaten on the season.
Mason Appleton ruined Blacker’s shutout bid with a goal midway through the second period.
