MOLINE, Ill. – A goal and an assist from Tylor Spink not enough for Toledo in a 4-2 loss Friday night at Quad City. Toledo has a season record of 8-3-0-0 and is 7-2-0-0 on the road.
The loss stopped Toledo’s seven game road winning streak. Toledo carried much of the play in the first period, holding a 19-9 shot advantage. Tyson Spink fed a pass in front of the Mallards net at 16:32 that Tylor Spink (5th) wristed into the back of the net to even the score.
After the Mallards regained the lead, defenseman Jacob MacDonald (4th) scored on a wraparound of the Quad City net at 6:45 of the second period. Tylor Spink and Tyler Sikura picked up the assists. The Mallards scored back to back goals at 14:06 and 19:56 to hold a 4-2 lead heading to the third period.
Toledo finished the night with a shot advantage of 44-27 including a 15-7 mark in the third period but were stopped time and time again by Mallards goaltender C.J. Motte.
