Tom Watkins believes his Telford Tigers side could have scored even more goals during a rampant second period in Saturday’s 7-3 win over Bracknell Bees.
An indifferent start saw The Tigers go into the first break 1-0 down – only to score six goals during the opening exchanges of the second session.
That goal glut virtually secured victory for Telford, as they rained in a remarkable 52 shots on Bees netminder Alex Mettam.
That first session saw The Tigers fall behind on eight minutes, before Martin Ondrej opened his side’s account just after the break.
Max Birbraer handed Telford the lead 15 seconds later, while Peter Szabo and Blaho Novak added the third and fourth goals on 25 minutes.
Bracknell snatched their second goal of the night at the halfway point of the game, before Szabo scored Telford’s fifth just moments later.
Jonathan Weaver found himself on the scoresheet after 32 minutes, giving the hosts a 6-2 cushion at the second interval.
The final period, however, was a much slower affair, despite a third goal from Bracknell and a hat-trick strike from Tigers forward Peter Szabo.
