ALLEN, Texas – The Allen Americans suffered a 4-0 loss on Wednesday night at home to the Wichita Thunder. The loss was Allen’s 4th in a row.
The Americans gave up two quick goals in the second period to go down 3-0 nothing, and they never recovered. Justin Bernhardt added his second of the night in the third period to give the Thunder a 4-0 lead and Wichita would win by that score. The loss was Allen’s eighth in a row at home and the first time they’ve been shutout all season.
The Americans failed to nail down a playoff spot for the 4th game in a row. Allen is a victory away or an overtime or shootout loss away from clinching a berth.
The Americans return to the ice on Friday night in Wichita. Allen is back at home on Sunday afternoon against the Tulsa Oilers at 4:05 pm.
