WINSTON-SALEM, NC: On the second day of the ACCHL tournament, Tennessee knocked off High Point 6-2 in the first game of the day.
The first goal of the game came close to midway through the first period when Tennessee’s Nick Carline scored with an assist from Drew King. With 4:48 remaining High Point’s Dakota Johnson tied the game with help from Ryan Bruin.
In the second period it was Drew King picking up the goal with 9:02 left to regain the lead. Eric Paulhardt got the assist on the King goal. High Point would again tie the game with 6:39 remaining. Tim Avery would get the assist on the Logan Kennedy goal. A minute later Pete Bunch would score what would become the game winning goal.
The third period saw the Ice Vols pull away with three goals. Goals were scored by Luke Schoenbrunn, Robert Stobierski and Bryan Donovan. Clay Lamb got the lone assist of the period on the Stobierski goal.
Brandon Shaw was in goal for Tennessee, while Eric Smith was in net for High Point.
