SHEFFIELD, UK – The Manchester Storm were blanked on the road this evening, as the Sheffield Steelers netminder Ervins Mustukovs increased his record-breaking shutout run to over 300 minutes, in a 3-0 win for the hosts.

The home side only took a minute and a half to get on the board, with Robert Dowd sending a shot from the high slot into the Manchester net. The Steelers Mustukovs made an early stop in the opening seconds of the middle period as Storm tried to get the better of him and continued to flash the pads to deny the Storm who had shot after shot on net.

But your Storm were soon two goals down, as Robert Dowd fed Andreas Valdix, who converted a chance past Mike Clemente and doubled the Steelers lead much to the frustration of the visiting fans. With Mustukovs stopping every shot, the Steelers kept Storm at bay, with the Steeler netminder once again unbeatable between the pipes as Sheffield homed in on another blank. Robert Dowd’s blueline shot sealed the victory in the final minutes, as the Steelers wrapped up the win ahead of the New Years Day game!
