PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Steelers thrash Fife in 8-1 win

SHEFFIELD, UK –  The Fife Flyers paid a visit to Sheffield and the Steelers were anything but hospitable hosts.

Sheffield posted three goals in the opening frame and tacked on four more in the middle frame to keep the Flyers on their heels for 60 minutes.

By the time the final horn had sounded, the Steelers had skated off with a 8-1 thrashing of Fife.

Colton Fretter netted a pair of strikes for the Steelers in the win.

Despite the goal outburst from Sheffield both clubs were scoreless on the power play with the Sheffield side going 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

Special teams did account for one goal as Fretter’s second of he evening was a shorthanded strike.

James Isaacs broke up the shutout bid with a goal just 55 seconds into the final frame.

Jordan Marr took the loss on 29 saves.

For Sheffield, Ervins Mustulovs picked up the win off 15 saves; Brad Day took over the net in the third period and made eight saves on nine shots.
