SHEFFIELD, UK – Kieran Brown sent everyone home happy after scoring his first Sheffield Steelers goal on the final whistle of a convincing 7-1 victory against the Edinburgh Capitals.
The King of Sheffield led the way with a brace as other goals flowed from the stick of Eric Neiley, Levi Nelson, Ben O’Connor and Davey Phillips.
It was however Kieran Brown that stole the show with his one time power-play blast in the last second to round off the scoring.
The Capitals came and defended and the Steelers failed to capitalise on the 18 first period shots fired at Edinburgh’s starting goalie Tyler Beskorowany.
It only took The King 5 minutes of the 2nd period to put the Steelers ahead.
Two minutes later and Levi Nelson converted a second goal with Tim Wallace assisting.
Before you knew it the Steelers were 3-0 ahead with Eric Neiley converting.
The Cap’s did get on the scoreboard, a breakaway from Dylan Anderson beating Moose for a 3-1 score line at 36.51.
Mathieu Roy scored his 2nd for a 4-1 advantage at 58.14
The Cap’s hit back with Podzins netting a 2nd for the Caps 33 seconds later.
Steelers then hit 3 further goals in the last minute
Ben O’Connor into the empty net at 59.03
Davey Phillips at 59.31
Then the moment of the night with Kieran Brown blasting a one timer with just 1 second remaining on the clock for a final score line of Steelers 7-1 Edinburgh Capitals.
