PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Steelers stun Nottingham, 4-0

SHEFFIELD, UK –  One of the great nights at the Arena – a Sold Out building – 9,300 in attendance – a great game and of course a Steelers 4-0 shut out victory against the Nottingham Panthers.

Steelers came with intent and out shot the Panthers 14-5 in the opening period.

With Yann Sauve sitting out a minor penalty for holding the Steelers took the lead as Levi Nelson was the first to react to a loose puck on the PP at 6.32

The Panthers came out strong in the middle period. Ervins Mustukovs stood tall and the Steelers killed two further Nottingham power-plays.

It was then the Steelers turn to go on the power-play. Raphael Bussieres sat out 2 for Boarding 34.14 and man of the match, Mark Matheson fired through a screen to double the lead (2-0 at 35.03)

Steelers then added a third 2 minutes later with the excellent Tim Wallace assisting on John Armstrongs goal.

Playing one of their best team performances of the year the Steelers added a 4th in the final period, a third power-play strike with Mathieu Roy completing a great set up from Jonas Westerling.
