SHEFFIELD – The lone goal of the first period came just as the buzzer sounded with DeLuca scoring on the powerplay at 19:59.

Mark Richardson got the Devils on the board at 29:54 with a powerplay goal but 36 seconds later DeLuca restored the 3 goal lead for Sheffield.

Joey Martin cut the lead to 2 goals when he beat Jackson Whistle at 31:36, which made it 4-2 and the score remained the same after 40 minutes of play.
The Devils made it 4-3 when Mike Hedden scored just 1:45 into the third period, but once again it was Anthony DeLuca who made it 5-3 for Sheffield at 47:25.

Hedden scored his 2nd of the game to make it 5-4 at 57:52 with Ben Bowns pulled for the extra attacker, but that was all the Devils could manage and the Steelers held on for the win.
