SHEFFIELD – Ryan Martinelli and Jackson Whistle laid the foundations to a stunning 4-1 victory against their former club.
Martinelli scored the all-important game winner whilst Whistle turned away 31 of 32 shots.
Darcy Murphy opened the scoring with a snipe at 14.23 but the Giants weren’t to find a way past Whistle after that moment.
A bullet from John Armstrong tied the game at 17.00
On a 4-4 play, Ryan Martinelli jumped into slot home with the eventual game-winner at 28.43
Anthony DeLuca added security for the Steelers firing past Beskorownay with 7.28 remaining
Jonas Westerling sent the 6500 plus crowd home happy with an empty net goal at 59.23 for a final score of Steelers 4-1 Belfast Giants.
Ryan Martinelli collected the man of the match award and carried out his first “Eddy” of the season.
Steelers travel to Cardiff on Sunday to play against the Devils (4pm)
