SHEFFIELD, UK – A four goal final period secured the Steelers a straight 3rd elite league victory and an unbeaten start to the championship campaign.
Jesse Schultz was again the star of the show scoring twice including the game winning goal – for the second game running.
After a scoreless first period it was Steelers, through Schultz who opened the scoring at 21.06 (Valdix and Ratchuk)
The Giants were back on level terms just before the period break when former Steeler Colin Shields equalised at 37.18
There was a tense feeling around the Arena as the third period started with fans expecting another close, even battle for the valuable points. They shouldn’t have worried as the Steelers dominated the final session scoring four without reply.
Schultz scored the eventual game winner at 51.04 on the power-play with Armstrong and Mosienko assisting.
Desbiens sniped one past Whistle at 54.21 for 3-1
Roy made the perfect pass to Bjorklund at 55.41 for a 4-1 lead
Then to complete the scoring the impressive Andreas Valdix completed a lovely move involving Mosienko and Dowd for a final score of Sheffield Steelers 5-1 Belfast Giants.
Steelers next home game is against Cardiff Devils next Sunday
