SHEFFIELD, UK – The King of Sheffield Mathieu Roy bounced back with 2 goals on a night the Steelers dominated the MK Lightning with a 6-1 victory.
Further strikes from John Armstrong, Mark Matheson, Colton Fretter and Robert Dowd secured the points for the Steelers.
The Steelers came out in the first period hot, creating chance after chance, at the first period break they will have wondered how they had only scored the one goal, a wonder strike from Big John Armstrong.
Steelers doubled their advantage 80 seconds into the second period when Colton Fretter converted from close range.
On a delayed penalty though the Lightning struck back scoring their only goal of the night at 27.57 through Kyle Essery.
A screened shot from the outstanding Mark Matheson regained the Steelers 2 goal advantage shortly after.
Into the 3rd period and the Steelers continued to dominate.
The dynamic due were back in action, Levi Nelson with an inch perfect drop pass to Robert Dowd who slotted home at 50.54
Mathieu Roy had created himself several chances during the night but again had no luck in front of goal.
Late in the third period his hard work was rewareded, first on the power-play at 54.33 for 5-1
and then at 56.47 with another power-plat effort, both assisted by Colton Fretter.
