SHEFFIELD, UK – he Steelers were in outstanding form on Tuesday evening at ICE Sheffield – moving to the top of the EIHL with a resounding 8-2 victory over the Dundee Stars.
Stars head coach Omar Pacha had warned the Steelers “he had a plan” but that quickly went out of the
window as the Steelers raced to a comfortable 5-0 first period lead.
Colton Fretter put the Steelers ahead in the fourth minute before Juha Koivisto doubled the advantage a little over 90 seconds later, Joonas Ronnberg assisting on both goals.
The Steelers went 3-0 up thanks to Fretter in the 8th minute, assisted by Mathieu Roy and David Phillips
Brad Ramsay made it 5-0 at 14.48 with assists to Kieran Brown and Scott Aarssen (above)
Malcolm Gould finally got Dundee on the board mid way through the second period.
In-form forward John Armstrong was able to restore the Steelers five goal lead 30.45 (Roy and Kirk)
Jimmy Jensen grabbed another goal for the Stars early in the third period. (6-2)
Tim Wallace converted a powerplay chance for Sheffield whilst Riely Stadel sat out a penalty for the Stars after a fight with Robert Dowd.
The win was then rounded off by Jonas Westerling late in the game for a final score of Steelers 8-2 Dundee Stars.
