SHEFFIELD, UK – The Sheffield Steelers completed a 4 point weekend with back to back victories over MK Lightning.
Tom Barrasso’s side beat the Lightning 4-1 in Milton Keynes on Saturday and doubled that up with a 2-1 home win at the Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Anthony DeLuca took the accolades with a goal and an assist as the Steelers moved into a play-off position.
Jackson Whistle was once again between the pipes turning away 22 of 23 shots.
Steelers raced to a great start when Eberle and Pitt set up DeLuca for a one time blast that beat the impressive Killeen.
Andreas Valdix levelled the game in the 28th minute after a mad scramble in front of Jackson Whistle’s goal.
Steelers were back ahead shortly afterwards, McGrath and DeLuca setting up Jonathan Phillips for the eventual game-winner.
The Lightning pulled Killeen in the final 2 minutes with Whistle and his defensive core making saves and blocking shots.
Final score: Steelers 2-1 MK Lightning.
