SHEFFIELD, UK – The Sheffield Steelers were unable to hold a pair of one-goal leads in their match Saturday with the Manchester Storm.
Leads of 1-0 and 2-1 were spoiled by the Storm including the final tying goal from Ciaran Long that forced extra time.
Neither team found the back of the net in the extra session and it required the lone shootout goal from Rob Linsmayer to settle matters.
The Steelers appeared to be in control of the match for much of the game. However, the Sheffield side were unable to protect the advantages and squandered a chance at a two-point night in the 3-2 loss.
