PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Steelers calm Storm, 3-1

SHEFFIELD, UK – Steelers ended the hopes of the Manchester Storm progressing to the knockout stages of the Challenge Cup with a 3-1 victory at the Fly DSA (Sheffield) Arena on Saturday evening.

In front of 7,000 fans the Steelers controlled the game against Manchester despite being without Colton Fretter (suspended) Mathieu Roy and Jonus Westerling (both injured).

Andrea Deveaux was the star of the show scoring 1 and assisting on 2 further goals – a deserved man of the match on his Arena debut.

Steelers scored the only goal of the first period, Levi Nelson finding the net from close range on the power-play after Shane Bakker had taken a 2 minute hooking penalty.

Steelers immediately hit back, Deveaux shot rebounding off Andreas Jamtin for a 2-1 advantage.

Bakker again found himself in the box in the third period, the Steelers once again took advantage with Deveaux rounding off an excellent home debut with a deserved goal.

Steelers top their Challenge Cup Group and are seeded No 1 in the quarter final draw.
