Matt Marquardt led the way for the Steelers in Game 1 of the weekend against the Cardiff Devils scoring twice in a 4-0 home victory.
Colton Fretter and Andreas Jamtin scored as well in a convincing performance that extended the Steelers winning run.
Both teams had early power-plays without sucess before Andreas Jamtin was called for hooking at 11.32
It was however the Steelers who took the advantage shorthanded, John Armstrong pouncing on a Ben Bowns error and setting up Colton Fretter for the conversion.
Steelers were dominating the period with surely a 2nd goal coming – and it did just 75 seconds before the end of the first session.
Marquardt went to the net to score with Fretter and Armstrong assisting, the crowd went wild and the Devils were rocked on the back foot.
Steelers extended their lead to 3-0 towards the end of the second period, Jamtin scoring from close range.
Marquardt scored his 2nd 4 minutes in to the final period on the power-play (Nelson and Matheson)
