San Jose, Calif. – The San Jose Sharks bested the Buffalo Sabres with a final score of 5-3. Tomas Hertl scored two goals and an assist in the match.
“I’m just happy I scored. It was nice to get my line going,” Hertl said. “The win is what matters most to me.”

Other goals from Jonathan Dahlen, Ryan Merkley and Mario Ferraro finished out the five goals for the night.
Ferraro earned the ultimate game winner in the third period.
“We keep telling him to shoot more,” the Sharks’ Logan Couture said. “He can shoot the puck hard.”
Rudolfs Balcers had a pair of assists for the night.
Buffalo scored a goal in each period, but it wasn’t enough to catch the Sharks.
Jeff Skinner scored in the first and late in the third.
“If we’re going to be a good team we’re going to have to learn how to win on the road,” Skinner said. “We’re going to have to learn to weather storms in tough buildings. Unfortunately, today we weren’t able to do that.”
Drake Caggiula scored in the second.
“We didn’t play to our identity, so a really big learning lesson because that was a very winnable game,” Sabres head coach Don Granato said. “We have a room of competitive guys that didn’t compete hard enough.”
James Reimer earned the win in the net, with 25 saves.
Craig Anderson gets the loss, with 22 saves in the Buffalo net.
