COLUMBUS, Ohio – A tale of two games proved costly to the Columbus Blue Jackets Wednesday night in a 7-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators.
Through much of the first half of the game, the two teams played an evenly matched game with the Jackets holding a thin 3-2 lead.
But the Senators responded with five unanswered goals to rout the Bleu Jackets.
Todd Richards, Columbus head coach, was not pleased with the effort from his bench.
“It’s trying to find solutions, and it’s not just one thing,” Richards said. “Based on the way we played the first period, it’s there. There are segments where it’s there, but we just can’t stay with it. We’re trying to find the identity, because right now, we don’t have any idea what we need to be.”
