COLUMBUS, GA – The Auburn University Tigers ice hockey club finished a brutal weekend slate of games.
On Friday, the Tigers hosted the College of Charleston and lost 5-3 and then dropped an 8-1 decision to Florida.
On Sunday, after those two games, the Tigers needed to be prepared for an Ole Miss hockey team looking to end the weekend on a high note.
Not surprisingly, Ole Miss was more aggressive and very physical.
Ole Miss jumped on the Tigers in the fist period and posted a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes.
The Tigers responded to cut it to 3-2 in the middle frame before Ole Miss added a goal late in the frame to make it 4-2.
The Tigers made a game of it in the third period despite the long stretch of weekend tilts to end the game down 5-4.
