
HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Peoria Rivermen built a two-goal lead, slipped into a tie, then swarmed the Huntsville Havoc in sudden-death overtime to add another victory Saturday to the best road record in pro hockey.
The Rivermen got two goals from checking line winger Cody Dion, including the game-winner in OT, to beat Huntsville 4-3 before 6,256 at Propst Arena.
Peoria improved its road record to 19-3-1 and finished the season series 7-0-0 against Huntsville.
The 34-9-3 Rivermen preserved their 14-point first-place lead in the SPHL and mathematically locked Fayetteville behind them, assuring at least a top three finish.
