TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Oilers dropped a home game 4-2 to the Kansas City Mavericks on Sunday in front of 6,792 fans.
Tulsa out-shot Kansas City 43-36, while the Mavericks were led by two goals from Joshua Lammon.
A.J. Vanderbeck picked up the game-winner 6:56 into the final period before Tulsa’s Blake McLaughlin pulled the home team within one at 15:37.
Lammon’s second marker of the game came short-handed on an empty Oilers net with 57-seconds remaining.
The Oilers (20-34-7-1) head out on the road for their first ever visit to Portland, Maine to take on the Maine Mariners this weekend.
The Mavericks (29-26-6-2) head to Idaho to take on the Mountain Division champion Idaho Steelheads in a three game set beginning Wednesday.
Kansas City currently sits in a tie with Wichita for second in the Mountain Division, while Tulsa is in last place, on the brink of elimination from playoff contention.
