PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Oilers defeat Grizzlies 3-1 on Pink in the Rink Night

phn-bsogTULSA, Okla. – The scoreboard on Saturday night in the BOK Center would mirror Thursday’s against the Utah Grizzlies. This time, it would read a win for the Oilers. Although each team would take 30 shots a piece, more would go in Tulsa.

The Oilers would score first and the goal would mean a little more than a 1-0 lead over the Grizzlies. Defenseman Joe Sova tallied his first goal of the season on Pink in the Rink night shortly after a pregame interview where he discussed his upcoming mark of 20 years in remission from Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The second 20 minutes would pass by scoreless but Brady Ramsay and Kenton Helgesen dropped gloves to spice things up.

Oilers defensemen came to play as Dennis Brown would be the skater to set up the point that doubled Tulsa’s lead. A big shot from the blue line by Brown was tapped in by Phil Brewer 2:58 into the third period.

The lead was cut to 2-1 when Grizzlies’ Ryan Walters scored on a pass received from T.J Syner in front of Kevin Carr.

The final goal, and maybe the prettiest goal of the season, would be credited to Tulsa’s Adam Pleskach in the final minutes of the final period. With just over a minute left to go in the contest, Dan DeSalvo tallied his second point of the night on the pass to Pleskach that ended the contest.
