TORONTO – Team Finland was something of a darling coming into the World Cup of Hockey this year but they met a stiff competition Sunday from North America in losing 4-1 to the young guns of the NHL.
Team North America got goals from Jack Eichel, Johnny Gaudreau, Nathan McKinnon, and Jonathon Drouin.
The 23 and under squad making up Team North America put on a show of sorts of speed, skill and talent in easily fending off the Finland roster.
Pekka Rinne was solid in the Team Finland net making 39 saves but his offense was lost in the whirlwind of North America’s younger talent.
Matt Murray picked up the win.
