BRAMPTON, ONT – Macoy Erkamps scored a bullet of a goal in the third but the Brampton Beast ultimately fell to the Manchester Monarchs by a score of 4-3 on Sunday, October 14th.
The Beast took on the Monarchs looking for their second win of the season on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester got on the board first with a goal from Tony Cameranesi at 3:32. The forward scored his second goal in as many games when he roofed a shot past the glove of Beast starting netminder Jake Paterson.
The Monarchs added another tally a few minutes later, as Cory Ward was left along in the slot and was able to beat Paterson with a quick snap shot.
The Beast would head into the first intermission down by a score of 2-0 and trailing in shots by a 14-12 mark.
The Monarchs came out firing to start the second period. Forward Sam Kurker was able to wrist a shot past Paterson to give the Monarchs a 3-0 lead at 6:48.
Brampton fought back and it was a goal by Reggie Traccitto that pulled the Beast back in the game. The forward was able to slide into the high slot before rifling a wrist shot past Monarchs goaltender Charles Williams at 7:14.
Brampton made it a one-goal game shortly after with a goal from Jackson Leef at 16:55. The hard-working forward shot home the rebound after Nathan Todd sent the puck intentionally wide along the end boards.
Brampton would head into the second intermission down 3-2 but ahead in shots by a count of 25-24.
Brampton was down a goal to start the third but Macoy Erkamps had a plan to change that. The British Columbia native took a Todd pass and sent a bullet past Williams to tie the game up 3-3 at 15:49.
Manchester poured on the pressure and came up with the 4-3 goal late in the third. Nick Moutrey found a bouncing puck in the slot and sent it past Paterson at 19:03.
Brampton would try and set up in the offensive zone with less than a minute remaining, but it was not to be, as Manchester would hang to win by a score of 4-3.
