PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Mississauga drops OT decision to Spitfires

MISSISSAUGA, Ont – The Mississauga Steelheads lost in overtime to the Windsor Spitfires this past Sunday afternoon in front of 1874 fans at the Hershey Centre.

Mississauga’s Sean Day opened the scoring at 8:21 assisted by E. Clark and B. Devlin. Mississauga went ahead 2-0 at the 15:00 minute mark with a goal by Jimmy Lodge assisted by M. McLeod and S. Babintsev.PHN_BSOG-200x133

Windosr got on the scoreboard at the 17:28 mark while on the power play with a goal from Trevor Murphy assisted by both S. Povorozniouk and H. McCool.

Mississauga’s Jimmy Lodge made it 3-1 at 16:55 with the help of E. Clark and B. Devlin.

The third period saw four goals scored with the first from Windsor’s Cristiano DiGiacinto at 4:40 assisted by T. Murphy and S. Povorozniouk.

Mississauga’s Jimmy Lodge got his third goal of the game at 8:37 assisted by M. McLeod and S. LeBlanc regaining their two-goal lead.

That was short-lived when Logan Brown score 2 goals to tie the game. The first came at 10:14 assisted by Graeme Brown and R. Moore and his second was unassisted at 14:04. 

Windsor’s Aaron Luchuk scored the winning goal at 2:33 assisted by R. Moore and P. Sanvido.
