PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Melbourne open season with 7-1 thumping of Sydney PHN welcomes back the AIHL report

MELBOURNE – The Australian Ice Hockey League got underway this past weekend and the Melbourne Ice celebrated the start of the new season with a 7-1 thumping of PHN_BSOG-200x133the Sydney Ice Dogs, in Melbourne.

Three goals from the Ice, including Matt Armstrong ’s first of the game got the scoring going and Melbourne never looked back. Armstrong chipped in a second goal in the middle frame and added two assists for four points in the match.

The Ice added two more in the second and two in the third before Sydney’s Strat Allen ruined the shutout bid.

Jaden Pine-Murphy stopped 16 in the win.

Greg Sturrock, Lliam Webster, Mitchell Humphries, Paul Kurceba, and Thomas Powell also scored for the Ice.
