MELBOURNE, Australia – Melbourne Ice managed to find the back of the net through Jeremy Brown from Joseph Hughes score 1-0. For the rest of the 1st period and the 
second period it was an arm wrestle of skating abilities.
The third period was when Melbourne Ice found the back of the net again the score was 2-0.
Five minutes later the Mustangs responded through Jamie Bourke.
There was plenty of time for the Mustangs to even up the score but it was not to be.
Melbourne Derby was a low scoring game and it was a battle of the goalies. Mustangs goalie Nicholas Novysedlak faced a total of 36 shots and saved 34, Melbourne Ice goalie Dayne Davis faced 23 shots and saved 22.
 There were plenty of penalties that were recorded for the game. 42 penalty mins for the game.
Melbourne Ice were victors against the Mustangs 2-0.
